CFT sponsors organizing grant program for local unions

The Strategic Campaign Initiative Organizing Grant Program assists the CFT in building a comprehensive organizing and political program that integrates the essential elements of quality research, legislative and policy advocacy, political engagement, and strategic communications.

“SCIO grants” are designed to assist local unions in strengthening our union by engaging in strategic organizing work in support of high-quality public education and other key local initiatives. The CFT- funded grants have helped locals plan and implement external and internal organizing campaigns, while training scores of members across the state in the process. The SCIO program has helped to expand the political and organizing capacity of the CFT.
