Politics & Policy Organizing Summit 2017
February 1-2, 2017
Holiday Inn Capitol Plaza Hotel
300 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95814
This year’s conference theme — Politics & Policy 2017 — will bring together local union leaders to learn, discuss, and strategize so that we can increase our collective power on the statewide issues that matter most in education.
We’ll hear from elected leaders and community partners. We’ll visit legislators to increase our presence in the Capitol as the session kicks off. We’ll make plans to engage our members in the legislative campaigns of 2017.
The conference program will have a mix of general session speakers, division breakouts, legislative visits, skill-building workshops, and time to connect with other leaders from throughout California. A legislative reception will also be held during this year’s conference.
Who should attend?
Formula-funded staff, local union officers, political directors, organizers, COPE chairs, membership mobilization chairs, central labor council delegates, and party convention delegates are all encouraged to attend. Formula-funded staff are constitutionally required to attend.
New Presidents Orientation
