October 15—Members Gus Goldstein and Ed Murray of the San Francisco Community College Federation of Teachers, AFT Local 2121 (holding up the blue banner) joined a rally to defend public education on the steps of San Francisco's City Hall.  Co-sponsored by United Educators of San Francisco, Local 61, the rally was initiated by a coalition of higher education and K-12 organizations calling for fair tax policies to bring back adequate funding for all public education.  The rally, which drew several hundred people, took place during a week of similar events, mostly initiated by the California Faculty Association and held on CSU campuses across the state.
