Is student debt weighing you down? If you work for a public school, college or university, you might find relief through the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. What’s more, AFT’s new legal victory has cleared the way for borrowers — previously denied relief they were promised — to obtain the benefit of Public Service Loan Forgiveness.

In our Student Debt Clinic, we will explain the legal victory and sweeping rule changes including the one-year timeline to request a waiver if you were previously denied under PSFL.

We will help you navigate AFT’s member benefit program called Summer. Working with Summer, AFT members already have saved $500 million on student loans, and Summer helps AFT members take the steps necessary to qualify for PSLF. We will also show you how to enroll in income-driven repayment plans to potentially reduce monthly payments.
